And Success In Day To Day Tasks
What is Occupational Therapy?
Many of us—children, teens, parents, entrepreneurs, retirees—have ways our brains and our bodies limit our capacity to execute our days.
Occupational Therapy has tools to help us thrive anyway.
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages do the things they want and need to do (called “occupations”).
What Occupational Therapists do
Our occupational therapists (OTs) look at all the areas of your life including your mobility, self care, home care, finances, time management, sleep & rest, work, school, and fun!
Any of these can be affected by physical limitations, cognitive issues, or social-emotional challenges. We'll design a customized plan or strategies, activities, or therapies based on your specific circumstances.
These could include:
Soft tissue modalities and manual therapy techniques to help with pain.
Education around adaptations, adaptive movement, and adaptive equipment to adjust to movement restrictions or limitations.
Cognitive strategies, executive planning, energy conservation, and routines to help you get through your day successfully.
Nervous system regulation to help with sensory integration and adaptations to your environment.
Ergonomic training for improved posture leading to decreased pain and improved comfort, energy flow, and circulation.
Strategizing optimal management of your day

Recognizing signs that may call for bloodwork or imaging.
Working with your current healthcare plan, prescription medicines, and doctors.
Recommending other services that may help you reach your goals, like health coaching or lifestyle medicine.
Being your doctors for life. As your needs change, so can our treatments and services!

"Occupational Therapy has been more helpful than I could have imagined for sensory issues. I thought at age 25 that it was just how it was going to be for me, but now I am so much more comfortable in situations I couldn't tolerate before.
